back to school + giveaway

back to school

My kids are starting swimming lessons in a few weeks. After a little rough start last year with my big girl, we are back into the pool to start again. You see, she sometimes is not so confident and sometimes a little shy and reserved. Put her into a new situation, let alone a pool… a big thing.

The Little Man though will just dive in if he got the chance. No fear.

With swimming lessons comes swimming bags. It is the one thing, that in all honesty, I never really quite understood the purpose and need. Until now.

Wet clothes, wet towels, wet hair, shoes, new clothes… there is a lot of stuff for a thirty-minute swimming lesson. And there is nothing worse than coming home with a wet smelly bag as well.

So I finally understood the need. I finally understood the necessity of each child having their own lined waterproof drawstring bag. Yes, each child now has their own swimming bag. Perfect, right?

I have always been a huge supporter of Stuck On You. I always know their products are reliable, well made and durable. In fact, these kids bags are multi-purpose. They can be used as a library bag; perfect for school readers, books and trips to the library. But, of course, I am using them as swimming bags because my kids are not yet into the whole ‘school library bag thing’. They are exactly what we all needed.

I am forever feeling like I am playing referee to the words of “it’s mine” and “that’s mine”. No arguments here! They each have their own identified bag. Children, when it comes to your swimming bag, there are no arguments, okay?

To kick off the new year and the ‘back to school’ fever, I have 2 x $50 Stuck On You gift vouchers to giveaway. I am excited, are you?

All you have to do is fill out the form below and tell me

Personalised water bottles are the go. A great way to ensure that everyone is keeping up the fluids, especially with the extreme temperatures we have been having.

A matching lunch box and water bottle, so they are easier for the kids to recognise and hopefully not lose for awhile!

Labels, its not worth buying anything to send to school if they aren’t labelled.

Really good containers- it’s all about nude food!

I must admit we have used the Tupperware sandwich keepers for most if not all the time Boy and Girl have been at school. We have had to have two replaced which they did with no problem not bad for containers that could be up to 10 years old. I think they are excellent for nude food.

My must have is a drink bottle that holds at least 500ml that fits in my car cup holder (about 5cm across) that doesn’t leak but doesn’t cost lots. If anyone has any suggestions I’d really appreciate them.

A really cool personalised backpack, like this one:

Lots of socks, nothing worse then kids not being able to find socks in the morning. Aslo good quality lead pencils, kids get distracted easily by sharpening pencils and cheap ones just keep breaking.

What I don’t like, because it’s not very nice
Is the possibility of the kids getting head lice!
    We’ve already experienced one infestation
Oh, the nuisance, and sheer devastation!
I try to maintain a positive perspective
But even the products are often ineffective!
Not to mention the time and cost
And combing guarantees patience will be lost!
So, my “must have” for back to school would be
Tie hair up, and use a defence spray with tea tree
Hopefully this will be enough to stop the nits
Because they really do give you the sh… sads!!!
