parenting advice for new mums

It is relentless sometimes! Parenting is hard… simple! When I see my nearly five year old swing on her own for the first time, or climb the monkey bars for the first time and gleam with confidence in the pool…. my jaw drops in admiration and pride.

But parenting is hard!

My girlfriend just birthed a beautiful boy. Her first! I remember those days of tiresome endless feeding, burping, crying, changing, attempt at sleeping, over and over and over…. and over again. It was hard. Honestly, I think I have forgotten a lot of the fine details. If you remembered absolutely everything we wouldn’t have more then one, right? Ha!

I am privileged to be a part of a beautiful mumma village on Facebook and some of the advice, wisdom and support has gotten me through the tough days and moments. It didn’t seem fair to not share some of these fabulous comments, along with other “advice” I have collected over the years….

So what is your advice? What would you add to the list?

Six years ago, my husband and I welcomed our first child. It was the best feeling ever. However, it is not always perfect. Sometimes, my husband and I would argue over little things. It is easy to be critical to my husband especially if I’m tired and I don’t get enough sleep. Thankfully, I have a very patient husband who loves and encourages me. We also try to get as much help as possible. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. My in-laws would visit us often and we would also hire the best Cleaning service Melbourne based professionals in our area so that we have more time for important stuff.
