exercise workout in 5 minutes

exercise in 5 minutes

Lately, I have become a little exercise junkie. Well, not really. Just a wanna-be runner really. And I have got my groove.

Truth? I love the fact that I can go for a run, turn on my music, ear plugs in and drain out the noise from everything and everyone else around me. It is a kind of meditation in a way.

But the truth is, it is hard to find the time. When I started my 12WBT with Michelle Bridges, I learnt the biggest lesson and moto of all; “no more excuses”. Because often, it is the excuses that stop us all from doing something. So I stopped. And found a new rhythm. Five minute workout sessions between putting the baby to sleep, resettling the baby, going back and forth to his room and entertaining him became my normal routine. Fortunately, Michelle had a workout video designed especially for me as it actually was an accumulation of 5 minute workout sessions across the thirty minute DVD.

So what are my tips for starting and maintaining an exercise regime when there literally is only 5 minute increment session opportunities. Just do it!

Today I am actually sharing my 5 favourite 5 minute sessions over at The Shake. Pop on over there to see my tips. And while you are there, leave me a few tips, or extra motivating points, or the best music you love exercising too… or you can share them here too :)

I love the idea of 5 minute exercise … I am still at the ‘excuses’ stage. Really want to read your tips, but couldn’t find them at Shake. Cheers, Alison #IBOT

Glad to hear you’ve found your groove, Tahlia. I’m not a runner, more of a leadfoot. But I do get out for walks twice a day, thanks to my enthusiastic mate Charlie the kelpie/lab. It was in the back of my mind to get a personal trainer with fur, all part of my dastardly plan for myself. He’s doing a perfect job. #teamIBOT

Charlie would definitely keep you moving! those kelpie’s have energy!!! They are the best personal trainers because if they don’t train you, they just go mental inside and out and start chasing everything that resembles a fly!

Confession – I LOVE the idea of running, I just hate the getting off my ass bit. I am inspired and awed by all of you runners, I truly am. x

Yes… the ass bit is hard! Try doing it on a cold melbourne morning! I can’t!!!1 Too hard! My bed is much nicer! xx

Everyone can fit in 5 minutes. No excuses!

That is exactly what I have found – it isn’t about not being able to do something – it’s about the excuses that I make for not doing something. I was doing so well with my running but that has fallen by the wayside and, until I can get rid of this medication induced weight, I am only walking and looking after my knees !
    Have the best day !

Oh that’s an awesome idea. I’ve got an excercise bike in my lounge, so whenever I feel like chilling and watching TV, I pull that out and get moving instead
