inspiring moments: determination

My first week of inspiring moments link party and moment sharing is finally here. This has been a long time coming of backward and forward thinking, contemplating and reflecting.

Reflecting on what I hope for, what inspires me, and what I hope to inspire my readers, you, with. And so, Inspiring Moments was born. Because it was only the other week that someone told me to enjoy the moment; reflect on the moment; and not get so caught up in the planning and control of life – which I  so often do.

I took a step back, I took a few breaths, and am now beginning a new journey of appreciating life in the moment, just that little more. Because there is so much there. And so often I think I miss the moments.

So inspiring moments for me this week are :

1. Determination – that I persisted in exploring what kind of Link Party I wanted to hold; what kind of community I wanted to create.

2. Persistance – as I look at my daughter I see her constant persistence in everything she does. She does not give up. She has a ‘fiery’ nature of constant determination and “I can do it” attitude. May she continue to have this beautiful strength within her and inspire others to do the same.

3. Strength – tomorrow she is going into surgery to have grommets put into her ears. Full surgery of being under anaesthetic and fasting from midnight tonight. She has amazing strength, but I think I am going to need even more strength tomorrow. But I know this strength and tough day is only going to lead to better things for my little girl…and us.

Has your child had grommets or surgery? How did you cope?

Luckily my two girls have had no major health problems. However a friend of mine’s little boy had the grommets put in. It made an amazing difference to him and was the best decision my friend ever made.
All the very best of luck to you.
