    100 days till christmas

    christmas

In case you missed my latest 3008docklands Magazine in the October issues, I thought I would share it with you…. from today, If I am correct, there is even less days till christmas….

    ***************

I discovered something new the other day, something I had not thought of or even considered. It is 100 days till Christmas. Who would have thought that the year has come and gone so quickly, and here we are again talking about Christmas, the fairy lights, decorations, carols and that present list that has to be created and completed.

Now I know we have all said, “I’ll do it next week”, but how often does next week come (and the week after) and that list and plan is still not done (not just talking Christmas list here…). Before you know it, it is November, December and then Christmas eve and you have no choice but to go do your shopping at Chadstone’s twenty-four hour Christmas eve shopping night.

This year is all about planning. Planning your list, planning your gifts, planning your meals. Plan, Plan, Plan. We sometimes forget how planning can take the stress out of things. Can reduce the anxiety and even better make it more enjoyable and entertaining. Beating the crowds is always a bonus.

So here is a list of what you can do now:

    1. Make that list of whom you have to buy presents for – be ruthless of who you are going to include and who you are not.
    2. Revisit that gift box or start one – you never know what you may find and whom it will be the best match for.
    3. Who are Santa’s little helpers – get the kids involved in how they can help plan, decorate and think of present ideas.
    4. Don’t get sucked into the pressure – know where your budgets lie, your limits and your expectations. Don’t think that there is no budget or limitation for the kids either.
Remember to have fun, enjoy and if you plan ahead and think ahead, you can get the most out of your holiday season. Maybe now is also a good time to start thinking about that family break away over the holiday season…
What do you know about surviving the christmas lead up?
I also know that TinaGrey is also running a stress-free christmas awareness package talking about the stress-free Christmas as well as Kirsty from Mummy to Five is also talking about the Things She knows about Christmas traditions. If you have any other tips be sure to share them around :) x
