    The Road Not Taken

    There are many experiences in life we pass up or miss, because of the choices we make. Every choice we make in life has a consequence, both positive and negative. And with every choice we make, new possibilities emerge and evolve – from the degree you study at university, to the person you marry, the friendships you form and the people you meet. Choices.

    But we can’t choose everything. We can’t walk every path. We have to make a choice.

    Cliche? Maybe. Truth? Maybe.

    Choices will forever be a part of our life.

    While reading a lot lately about who inspire me, and, what inspires me, I feel a natural lean toward poetry. I don’t know if it is the cliches being told, or the metaphors written, but there is something inspirational. And so I share with you this poem: The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Maybe you can’t always choose both paths, but sometimes you can get close enough that you feel that you have made the best choices for you, in that moment, that time, that second.

    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
    And sorry I could not travel both
    And be one traveler, long I stood
    And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;

    Then took the other, as just as fair,
    And having perhaps the better claim
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
    Though as for that the passing there
    Had worn them really about the same,

    And both that morning equally lay
    In leaves no step had trodden black.
    Oh, I kept the first for another day!
    Yet knowing how way leads on to way
    I doubted if I should ever come back.

    I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
    Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
    I took the one less traveled by,
    And that has made all the difference.
