back to school / back to creche

This post is brought to you courtesy of the TPF/Target Partnership.

My Little Miss is heading off to a new creche next week. A new location, a new school, new teachers, new friends. NEW NEW NEW! Here is one mummy who is a little nervous and anxious. All the questions are running through my mind… ‘will she settle in okay’, ‘will the teachers be good teachers’, ‘will she make new friends’, ‘will she like the lunches I make for her’.. and there are more, but I’ll stop there.

So a new year, means new clothes. And the ONLY place I ever go to for creche, everyday clothes, is Target. On my list of things to buy from Target was tshirts, long tops, leggings and a drink bottle. And because I dread shopping with my Little Miss, I was pumped for an evening out to myself. Yes, myself!

Because she is not yet at ‘school’, she doesn’t need a backpack, pencils, uniform or lunchbox. I have been blessed to have been given at least four different lunch bags over the course of her two and a half year life. I think this is the latest gift to buy? Target has it all! Hats anyone?

But I was tempted! Target have some amazing cool looking lunchboxes and pencil/texta arrangements. There was one in particular Lego case that caught my eye. But NO!, I stayed on track!

They had everything! My favourite is this gorgeous long sleeve hoodie. Long sleeve, but light enough for her to run around in the weird Melbourne days.

And these shorts are going to be the best thing in the next coming weeks with the incredible heat still predicted. Because she is not a girly girl who likes dresses, shorts are the best thing for her. And with matching simple, pretty tshirts, she is set.

But it is the drink bottle that is my favourite! I like to replace drink bottles at least every six months, and this one was a total find! Aluminium which will keep the water cool, and a great non-leaking sippy top. Now, the trick is to try and keep it away from her for the next week or so. FAILED! Total failure! She has used it already a gazzilion times!

And as I am trying to get into an organise my life kind of style this year, I just had to buy these pens. Coincidentally they were so conveniently placed in the section where you cue for the checkout. Yes, I got tempted! I mean, who hasn’t just picked something up while you are waiting in line? $3!!! Bargain!

So excuse me while I head off to label all the fabulous new purchases!

p.s. my apologies for the lack of modelling on my daughter’s part. I think I can rule this out as a career, as trying on new clothes is just not her thing!
