visit ballarat {our weekend}

visit ballarat

Now, some of you may have read this post {or something similar} a week or so ago. So, if that is you, my apologies. The thing is, the blog was hit by a virus the other day and my last post got deleted. So here I am again re-writing all thing Ballarat…

A few weeks ago, during the school holidays, my family and I travelled to a quiet {not so quiet} town out of Melbourne that has at least temperatures of about 4 degrees colder then Melbourne. Ha, it was freezing! Not having the right warm weather foot wear doesn’t help either.

Temperature aside, Ballarat is one of those places that you can just go to for a day trip, weekender, week, extended stay, or absolutely what ever really. The truth is, we have been there before for a weekend, and loved it! Loved it! Imagine a place where you can stay in a quiet little cabin and watch your kids play with other kids right outside your doorstep, and not have a worry in the world. Imagine a place where you can stroll to one of Melbourne Ballarat’s most renowned iconic attractions and then walk back at your leisure.

Ballarat has it all; attractions, good food {think amazing Pizza… AMMMAZING}, fresh air, wilderness {yet not so wilderness} and peaceful living. We loved it.

The kids especially loved Kryal Castle and all things ‘knights’. Seeing the most beautiful and magnificent black horse for me was a highlight, while the fire man was the biggest hit for the kids.

I personally think this place is a little gem that more Melbourne people need to get a hold of experience themselves. I personally think it is totally under rated and should totally be highlighted as one of THE places to go while in Melbourne.

We loved it! We will be back!

I was given the opportunity to travel to Ballarat with my family. All opinions are my own.
