everyday moments: relationship blossoms

everyday moments

I see laughter. I see joy. I see a little boy taking a few extra steps each day. Soon he will be walking, without falling, and without toppling over.

She wants to help him. She encourages him. “Come Ari, Come”, she says with such enthusiasm and excitement. And he does. The only time she doesn’t want him around is when she is drawing and painting. The only time.

He smiles, he beams with joy at the sight of her. We watch in admiration. We watch with pride.

Each morning she sits with him while he has his bottle. She pats him. She waits with him. She watches over him.

Kisses goodnight. Cuddles too.

And we put her to bed, as usual, as normal. Her bedtime story is a collection of Disney stories. “Which one do you like Mumma?”. I choose The Little Mermaid. She chose that one too.

And then, just like that, with no prompting and no cueing… “I love you mummy.”

My heart melts.

Each weekend I am noticing myself ‘switch off’ from the online world. Honestly, it is kind of refreshing.

My heart is still melting.

What were your everyday moments?
