How to show gratitude

flower bouquet

Sometimes with the every day demands of life, we can forget about the simple things, the little things. And sometimes it is easy to forget to acknowledge and show our gratitude to the people around us. Yes, if you have a partner, saying I Love You every day comes easy. Giving a kiss, or a hug is also just as easy.

And being forever grateful for your children is just a given.

But what about the other things? What about that extra little something that happen every day, every so often, or maybe are just there?

The smile that you are given that intoxicates you and inspires you to smile too.

Picking up the milk or the bread on the way home from work.

Allowing you to crawl into bed early so you can get some extra needed sleep.

Or the lesson of patience you are taught every day from your children.

Or the inspiration to be in the moment.

There is so much around you to be grateful for. But maybe showing this can be the tricky part.

So how can you show our gratitude?

1. Give a bunch of flowers to that someone special.

2. Cook his favourite meal.

3. Take your children somewhere special.

4. Make chocolate sprinkle cookies

5. Tell them, “I am so grateful for…”

6. Smile.

7. Book a night out for you and your partner.

8. Write a poem.

9. Write a love letter.

10. Be together.

Sometimes acknowledging, appreciating and showing your gratitude can change your day in more ways then one. Sometimes in can change the other person’s life, then and there, in more ways then one too.

So go on… how are you going to show your gratitude to someone special?

Lovely kindnesses make the world go round, Tahlia. This is such a sweet post. Every now and then my children make my whole world shine by bringing me a leaf and telling me that ‘the flowers were all taken’. x
