These school holidays has brought the love of Disney into our home.. or should I say, return. You see, it has always been here. I grew up watching Disney movies. 101 Dalmations, Cinderalla, Snow White, Lady and The Tramp and The Lion King were the favourites. Every movie was in my cupboard.
Every one.
And over the years, I have kept these movies (and old videos) and accumulated the most recent versions and editions, waiting and waiting for that day that I can sit down and watch them with my children.
That day has come.
I watch my little girl watch these movies in absolute admiration and joy. I quietly shed a tear, because I realise that she is growing up. I curl into the couch with her, cuddling her and securing her from the few ‘scary’ bits, all the while as I too enjoy the movie again.
Mum used to say that I could watch these movies again and again. And again. I think history is repeating itself.
