laundry tips

This I just had to share! It is simple, brilliant & just too clever!

I am constantly trying to teach my kids to help out around the house, take responsibility & work together as a team. It is something I had to do at a young age with my mum being a single mum, & now, I want to teach my kids the same lessons.

Each child has their basket & has the responsibility to put ALL their clothes away. Mum {or dad} washes, takes off the line & folds, but putting clothes away falls in the hands of the kids. Ha! Now to just try this with my 4 year old.

Do you have some clever tricks to get the kids to help out around the house?

Lots of people thinking the same at the moment – trying to get the kids to help out more. I saw this over at The Organised Nest on Facebook yesterday. I do wonder what happens when there is one child that never empties the basket.

Awesome idea! Might have to put that into play here, I hate putting washing away.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news but this only works if the kids co-operate. Mine (adult boys) don’t. They just leave the clothes in the baskets. All that happens is I run out of baskets – lol.

Ooh great idea. I could see kids loving the idea of having their own personal basket. Good luck with your four year old :) My kids are still a little young to help out around the house too much, although my eldest has just started making her bed. Winning! #teamIBOT

I have small baskets for each child that I put their ironing into. I don’t let the younger two put theirs away though, because the older two are still struggling to put things in nicely!
