take a deep breath

So often we forget to take a deep breath.

When our children are having a tantrum.

When we have to ask our partner ten times to fix that little job around the house

When your baby won’t sleep

When you realise it is six thirty and there is still no food on the table for the family.

Sometimes we have to take a deep breath. It is so very easy to experience the anxiety, to feel the anxiety and that feeling of just wanting to shut yourself in the laundry for ten minutes. It is okay to feel sad. It is okay to feel lonely. It is okay to feel “i have had enough”.

But when we take a deep breath we can realise:

If your baby does not sleep, well he will sleep later.

Tantrums are a positive experience for children to leaner boundaries and limitations.

And if that odd job is still not done, you can ‘dial a hubby’.

Have you ever forgotten to take a deep breath?

Wise words! It wasn’t until I tried prenatal yoga that I realised the benefit of a good, deep breath. Getting some extra oxygen in the blood stream does us a world of good :) And thanks to your pic, I now feel like some tea!

I forget the deep breaths ALL THE TIME! So easy to get so caught up in the present tantrum/ lack of sleep/ anger etc and think it will last forever. Perspective!

I’ve never had to dial-a-hubby (I usually dial my dad or brother) but I am a big believer in outsourcing to save one’s sanity. And yes, some deep breaths too.

I like to count to ten while I take deep breathes. I breath in for five and out for five. Works a treat.. A nice cuppa works too :-)

I read this in between work clients… and it was timely, i needed a big deep breathe to refresh. Then I had disappointing news this afternoon – reading it again reminded me, Lyndal, breathe. stop. breathe again.
    Timely reminder – thankyou xx

I find I get quite stressed and then usually eat or snap. I need to work on some coping techniques.

chocolate your weakness like mine? If I don’t have food in my tummy I will always snap more. Funny that…
