We have been planning Little E’s 2nd birthday party for weeks now. We I mean, Me, Myself and I.

Invites: sorted! Tick!

Food: sorted! Tick!

Now for the decorations…

We are having the party under a rotunda in a public park. So when it comes to decorations, we may have to keep it a little more simple.

A few balloons

And maybe some decorations around chairs and tables

And I am thinking a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner…

And have you thought about a take-home goodie bag? It is not something I am doing, but I love these. Simple. Just design a little note, get a peg and clip it onto a bag. EASY!

And if you are having a party for bigger kids or even adults, these table settings are just gorgeous. So simple, stylish and just so so effective!

I could certainly let my imagination go a little further. Any party decorations also depend on the theme you are doing… nautical, princess, farming, kite flying… it is endless.

But with any party planning know what your capabilities are. Know what your limits are. But have FUN! doing it all! No matter what you do, remember that the kids will love it anyway!

Do you have any fabulous favourite party decorations?

Its mind-boggling isn’t it? I spent hours on Pinterest looking at ideas for Skye’s 2nd birthday party but in the end it got too much and I didn’t bother with any of it.
I do love me a good rainbow cake though :)

I wish I could plan great parties. In the end I use the same old ripped and crunched up foil birthday banner, half melted candles, uneven balloons, etc. I really should put more effort in, but these birthday’s always seem to sneak up on me. Rachel xx

I never go to that much detail with kids parties. I find all they want is presents, some friends over, a bit of fairy bread and a birthday cake.
I’m always impressed to see what others come up with though. So many windfall ideas!

I love using what I can find around the house – jars, vases, betsaks, madeover and spray painted items from the Goodwill (have several of those!). Pop on ribbon, or pick up some holiday/seasonal decor fillers at the Dollar Tree. Frugal and pretty! I’m using nature to help me out this holiday season.

I love seeing the pics of these beautiful images.
I also wonder if “we” do parties for us or the kids…and here I am saying it only because I think it worries some if they don’t come up to scratch.
As Jess says, and Erin, you can tie yourself up with worry about the ‘look’ and the theme…it is cute, and gorgeous if it doesn’t keep you up at night. That said, kids like it simple…and I love the trend to have parties at home again. For a while there it was more likely to be outside the home. It is a celebration with a cake and candles. Kids just LOVE the candles. oh and the HB song “Hip Hip Hoorayyyy”

I think there is so much we can get caught up in Denyse. Kids are simple creatures… give them cake and a few candles and they are happy. I so agree. I guess i am also trying to showcase a few more extravagant ideas… I always loved the birthday song too :)
