Aussie outdoor summer essentials part 2

table2

This post is part of Target/TPF collaboration

The one thing I love about an Aussie summer is the outdoor entertainment, fun and good times. Yes, I wrote about my summer love here and here. Whether it is a BBQ lunch with family, a morning down by the beach, or an afternoon chilling outside, it is just good old relaxin fun.

And a BBQ lunch is exactly what we did. A lunch with the family and kids. Perfect!

When Target asked me to go shopping for summer homeware essentials, I got excited knowing I could add to my already growing outdoor living household items. Yes, Target has it all. In case you missed my last post, I was super excited when I picked up my acryclic cups and water jug. Super excited.

Now I am even more excited about my acrylic napkin holder; no more napkins flying away!

And how gorgeous is this table cloth (sorry I can’t find the online link). At a reduced price of around $3.75, you can imagine my grin at the check out. I am just a little bit annoyed at myself that I didn’t get two. Don’t you love that ‘hindsight’ word…

So while I set the table, my hubby was busy cooking the snags and burger rissoles. There is nothing like a good burger. But my one tip to make it even easier for yourself on the entertaining day is to accept at least one offer of “can I bring anything?”. I don’t often ask, but if there is an offer, then sometimes I accept. And boy did it help. My mother-law made the most amazing fruit platter! The best! And my sister-in-law made the most amazing beetroot salad. But it is a kind of Russian-style-potato-salad-but-with-beetroot-instead. There really is no other way to explain it. It is just yummy. The truth of the matter is that I was away on a detox-Tahlia time weekend (more on that later) and time was a little precious.

A good cutting board is also a winner! Yes, Target even have these!

But isn’t it amazing what a bright, beautiful table cloth can do to a table. The table cloth has just added a whole new WOW factor. I just need to go shopping for tablecloth holders. Yes, I resorted to using the kid’s connector toys to try to anchor it down.

And with a little help from everyone, it really was a superb day of fun, chillin and good times. The kids loved the trampoline while the parents enjoyed relaxing. Good food. Good summer essentials. Good company. What more could this girl want?

Do you know where I can buy table cloth holders? What are your summer entertaining essentials?
