Today is all about DIY gift ideas – gifts you can make at home by yourself, or with the family. Sometimes presents that are hand made can show an extra level of love, kindness and thought. Because lets be honest, we have all received a present at some stage in our life and wondered what was going through the mind of that dearest friend when they bought it, and we think, “well, they meant well”.
But if it is hand made, and created with love, well then, there is hopefully an extra special appreciation – even if you still don’t know what to do with the gift.
And I have been in a crafty mood lately. I made my baby boy a hanging mobile. And then of course, when my Little Miss saw it she wanted one too. And so I made it. Because that is what this Mumma does.
Baby Hanging Mobile
It is really easy, although just a little time consuming.
I will give you step -by -step how to guide next week.
But there are so many lovely mobile ideas you can do for your little one.
Who knew what you could do with paint sample cards?

Tile Coasters
We all need coasters right? It took me way too long to find the perfect coaster, when I could have probably made something in a flash.
They are practical, user friendly, and will last forever.
I love these tile coasters from The Cottage Home. And if you are giving them to family, you could get super crazy and even use pictures of the kids.

Succulent Terrarium
;
I LOVE succulents. Just love them. They are the kind of plant that looks great, and you can reuse and replant off cuts. That is right, just break off a leaf even and it will grow roots, and then a plant! WAllah!
And a terrarium is a gorgeous gift. Easy to do. Easy to create. And you can even then add little animal figurines inside if you want to as well. Like a little dinosaur figurine maybe?
These are just a few ideas from Birdhouse and I am in love! Excuse me while I go and get crafty again with plants.
All instructions are found here.
Potted Herb Garden
There is nothing like having fresh herbs at your finger tips. When you need it, there and then!
Classic, but simple, and with a ribbon around it… gorgeous!

Photo Book
Another classic! Let your imagination run wild with a photo book. For dad, mum, partner, friend… the list is endless. And these days it is so easy to do it online too.
This one specifically I love from Design A Glow. But there are other fabulous designs and templates you can use as well. Stores like Snapfish or Blurb are great.
So there you have it. Just a few simple DIY Christmas gift ideas. But there are more ideas out there.
What are yours? Are you doing the DIY style this christmas?
