school holiday fun

The school back packs have been hanging in the hall way for a week now… a little longer for some. Second week in, what are you up to? How are you entertaining your munchkins? Are you stuck on ideas?

And with horribly cold, rainy days like we have had in Melbourne (although today is surprisingly quite lovely… thanks weather man), finding activities can be a little harder.

You may remember that last year before the summer holidays I posted some tips on school holiday fun. Well since then I have also found new inspiration and new ideas. That is the thing about time and journeys… you find new inspiration along the way.

Sometimes a simple balloon can give hours of entertainment. Or even that pasta in the pantry can be a wonderful sensory activity with a little sorting and maybe craft options. Or remember those pasta necklaces we all used to make?

Here are my other holiday fun ideas:

1. Take a walk to your local shops and see what flowers you can find. Pick them up. Take them home. And then how about adding them to the next craft masterpiece.

2. Super quick and easy cup cakes are always a winner

3. Or how about baking some choc chip cookies?

4. Make some head bands

5. I love this lantern idea. And they look AMAZING once they are all lit up!

6. Have a picnic in the backyard

7. Have a game of soccer

8. Turn the radio on and have a boogie.. or your favourite classic

9. Do some finger painting.

10. Go on a scavenger hunt and take photos of what the kids find.

11. Go for a baby chino date

What have you been up to these school holidays?

What fun activities and ideas do you have?
